Working to improve your diet can be difficult. Here are ten food mistakes you may be making and how you can fix them!

Oh YES, full disclosure here. I am using Yoli’s supplements and follow the BBS meal plan. Same with my family and training clients. So take a look, read and learn; courtesy of Better Body System by Yoli.

  1. Focusing solely on calories.

Calories matter when you’re working to lose weight, but what you eat is just as important. Four hundred calories of lean protein and complex carbohydrates will affect your body differently than four hundred calories of potato chips and soda! Rather than simply cutting calories, focus on getting a variety of nutrients from protein, carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables.

  1. Ignoring portion sizes.

Eating too much of even healthy foods can be bad for your health. If you currently don’t pay attention to portion sizes, now is the time to start! You can find portion size guidelines in your BBS brochure so take advantage of them as you plan your meals.

  1. Sipping sugary drinks.

When you’re working to improve your health, you probably know that soda isn’t a great option, but even fruit juices can be packed with sugar. Rather than reaching for one of these drinks, stick with water and your favorite Yoli beverages. They’re sweetened with stevia instead of sugar, so they’re a much better option!

  1. Avoiding all carbs.

Cutting down on carbohydrates can help you lose weight, but cutting them out completely is unnecessary. They’re built into the BBS meal plan for a reason! Complex carbohydrates, such as sweet potatoes, whole-grain bread, and brown rice, are a great source of energy, and they offer a lot of nutritional value. Refined carbohydrates, such as the ones found in candy, soda, and white bread, are the ones you should avoid.

  1. Cutting out all fats.

Many people think they need to avoid all fats in order to reach their health goals, but they’re an important part of a healthy diet. Try to eat a serving or two of good fats, such as the ones found in avocado, low-carb dairy, natural nut butters, olive oil, and unsweetened almond milk, every day.

  1. Doing juice cleanses.

Juice cleanses may sound like a good idea, but they’re not all they’re cracked up to be. Most of the weight you lose on a juice cleanse is water weight, which you’ll regain once you go back to a normal diet, and you’ll miss out on protein and other essential nutrients. You’re better off eating a well-balanced diet focused on lean protein, complex carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables.

  1. Not reading the nutritional facts.

Foods that are marketed as healthy can be deceiving, so it’s important to read the nutritional facts on food labels. Go through them carefully and check for high amounts of sugar, sodium, and trans fats before you purchase packaged foods!

  1. Eating the same thing for every meal.

It may seem easy to eat the same things day in and day out, but that will lead to boredom and ultimately make it harder to stick with the BBS meal plan. Instead, embrace variety and switch things up every day for a more interesting diet and a broader range of nutrients!

  1. Going hungry.

Being hungry all the time is a recipe for disaster. If you find yourself getting hungry on a regular basis while you’re using the Transformation Kit, you may want to eat more low-carb vegetables such as celery, cucumbers, peppers, and spinach to help satisfy your appetite. Healthy fats such as avocado and natural nut butters can also help you feel full longer.

  1. Giving up your favorite treats forever.

Is it good to cut down on unhealthy indulgences? Sure. Is it necessary to cut them out completely? Nope! Being able to enjoy your favorite treats in moderation is built right into the BBS meal plan because we know you can transform your life without giving up the foods you love indefinitely. As long as you eat these treats for your Free Meal rather than eating them every day, there’s no reason to deprive yourself!

Now that you know of these common food mistakes, work hard to avoid them. For more tips for transforming your life, subscribe to my blog and check my Better Body System Website:
